The Rejuvenator

Released July 23, 1917, The Rejuvenator is a one-reel Black Diamond Comedy filmed and produced by the United States Motion Picture Corporation (USMPC) in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The film was distributed by Paramount Pictures.

The film featured Leatrice Joy.

Grandpa and Grandma Both Get Young in Paramount Release
In “The Rejuvenator,” Black Diamond comedy, released by Paramount July 23, both grandma and grandpa, unknown to each other, read this ad:
“For $100 I will make you young again. –Dr. Young.”
Grandma gets young and flirts with her grandson. Grandpa also rejuvenates. Jealousy in a café and a lively fight follow. Both are arrested. The picture contains a number of “tricks.”

Synopsis article in the July 21, 1917, issue of The Exhibitor’s Herald, page 36:
“The Rejuvenator” — July 23 (one-reel Black Diamond comedy). — Grandpa and Grandma are reading the paper. Grandma reads an advertisement that a certain doctor will make people young again. She goes to the doctor and comes out of the machine young and beautiful. She goes to her grandson-in-law’s house and they go out to dinner together. Granddaughter comes to grandma’s to tell her trouble about her husband, but finding grandma gone tells it to grandpa. Grandpa decides to be made young so that he can fight grandson-in-law. After coming out young and handsome they too go to dinner. At the same cafe grandpa and grandma begin to flirt. Their partners become peeved and a fight ensues. Twenty years later we find grandma and grandpa peacefully reading.
